First ever Lipson Vale Swimming Team compete in Schools Gala

Monday 2nd March was a historic day for LVPS as Miss Kett and Mrs Marsh took the first ever school swimming team to the Devonport Royal Swimming Schools Gala at Plymouth Life Centre.

Over 20 schools from across Devon and Cornwall had teams ready to race in 25m front crawl relays.

We had one mixed team representing the school. Lexi (4P), Lois (4KW), Billy (6AW), Ronnie (6W) and Todd (6W) made up our team. Each swimmer swam 1 length front crawl as fast as possible!

It was a tough race, but the team managed 3rd place in their heat, and narrowly missed out on the final!

The swimming gala was a great experience for all involved and the children should be very proud of themselves. We hope to have more swimmers representing the school in the future!
