Year 4 Tag Rugby

On Wednesday 8th May, Eva, Tommy, Merryn, Kemi, Travis, Isobel, Charlie and Charlotte all participated in a tag rugby activities day at Plymouth Albion. In the morning, the children were partnered with the Marine Academy Primary School whilst they engaged in a series of skills focused activities, allowing them to hone their skills, build new relationships and make new friends.

The first activity they took part in was ‘Piggy in the Middle’ to practice their movement and ball handling skills. This was followed by an exciting and competitive one-on-one challenge with their partners.

In the afternoon, the focus was on match-based practice games, with regular intervals to highlight specific skills. This gave the children an opportunity to showcase their new-found skills. As the RFU have advised against competitive matches for this age group, the day ended with four schools being drawn out of a hat for the level 3 event.

A brilliant day was had by all. Well done to the Year 4 team!
