Safeguarding

We take safeguarding very seriously, and ensure that all relevant school policies are reviewed by the governing body on an annual basis.  All our staff and volunteers are DBS checked, and two references are requested on appointment to a role. We also ensure governors are kept up to date with 'Safer Recruitment Training'. We report on all aspects of safeguarding to governors in an annual report.

If you have a concern related to safeguarding, please contact Mr Lewis-Cole who is the designated safeguarding lead within school.

Sometimes we may need to share information, and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will endeavour to ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with their parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that this is not in the child’s best interests.

We are part of Operation Encompass – Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.

Our school community has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children who are our pupils.
